A lot of people say they have tried EVERYTHING to get their parrots to stop screaming. They say they ignore the bad screaming, only pay attention to him when he's good... leave the room if he screams for attention and stock his cage full of toys to help help him be less bored. These people can't leave their bird alone for a second, or do ANYTHING without the bird loudly protesting the fact that he's not involved.
The only thing these people claim stops the screaming is to let the bird spend time with them...
But this QUICKLY get's out of hand, and is a strategy that only reinforces a bird's desire to be with its owner more... causing some parrot owners to give in and just let their bird "live" on their shoulder.
These people claim they've tried many strategies on their screaming birds to no avail. Here's why they've failed to stop their screaming...
Almost ALL parrot training strategies work because they do the best job of pairing up what the bird wants with what *YOU* want by finding a happy compromise.
But not every bird wants the same thing!
The real reason a technique that you might learn from me might not work for you, is because every training technique is designed to be used on a bird with a *very* specific love language.
Because they are motivated by different things!
If you've tried the strategy of rewarding your bird with food rewards for being quiet or playing with his toys and it works... then your bird is probably a bird that loves food.
This strategy has broken thousands of birds of their screaming for attention habits.
But if you try it and it doesn't work, then your bird might not care that much about food and would much rather be 'Actively Playing' and burning off energy.
Meaning you need to use training techniques that target your birds specific Love Languages to get the best results for your bird, and not just give up on your bird because a technique didn't work.
This is why I think it's CRUCIAL that you get your hands on as much training information as possible. You need to be armed with an arsenal of strategies that you can pull out and use in a variety of situations.
You can get those strategies here.
